Working hard, raising money, and having some fun too!
We have undertaken a number of exciting and adventurous fundraising activities to raise money for our Bristol exhibition over the course of this year. We have already raised enough money to cover our main costs but we have decided to continue fundraising so that we can contribute to conservation and environmental projects that we believe in. We have partnered with Emily Stevenson, Beach Guardian, and Nurdle, a small project that builds unique trommels that sift small micro plastics from the sand.
Our fundraising events have included live music band nights, film screenings, a natural history quiz night with the amazing Dr Tim Cotterell, and our particular favourite - our pet photography studio days. We held two separate photo days in April and May and we met so many gorgeous pooches and their owners. We made a short video to show what we got up to.

Bristol Festival of Nature - 8/9th June 2019
The Festival of Nature is the UK’s largest free celebration of nature and there is an exciting programme of FREE events which includes fun activities, live performances, workshops and interesting talks to inspire you about the natural world and the wildlife in your local area.
Taking place in Bristol’s harbourside area over the weekend of 8th and 9th June it promises to be a really exciting and engaging event.
We will have a stand as part of the festival in Anchor Square, next door to We The Curious. Please come by and say hello and meet some of our exhibitors. We are sharing the stand space with one of our partner organisations, Nurdle and they will be giving demonstrations of their trommel machine as well as engaging children in marine conservation issues through VR technology. On Sunday we are being joined by Plastic Oceans UK who will be sharing their new education programme for children. We also have a talk slot in the main exhibition tent at 4pm! It is going to be a fun and busy weekend and we hope to see you there.
